How to be a Responsible Pet Owner and Where to Get Money For it

Our pets are happiness in its purest form. We love and care for them, and they respond to us with kindness and tenderness.

But we must not forget that with a pet, great responsibility comes to our house. Our four-legged friends cannot say that they are missing something or that something hurts them, so you need to be as attentive as possible to the condition of your pets.

We have prepared five tips for responsible pet owners.

1. Visit the veterinarian

Responsibility starts with regular visits to the veterinarian. Given that cats and dogs have a shorter lifespan than humans, they should be examined at least once or twice a year.

Depending on the vaccination schedule, pets may be in the doctor’s office more often at a young age. Still, regular visits to the veterinarian at an older age are essential to maintain good health.

2. Vaccinations

Vaccination of pets is a vital component of responsible care. During the first visit, the doctor will schedule vaccinations for kittens and puppies, which will help protect them from diseases and ailments.

Vaccinations help prevent diseases such as rabies, leptospirosis, and canine distemper. In addition, cats are vaccinated to avoid the feline herpes virus, feline leukemia, panleukopenia, and rabies.

If you are adopting an adult or elderly pet, ensure it already has all the necessary vaccinations. Vaccinations must be repeated periodically, and this applies not only to young pets.

3. Correct identification data

If your pet gets lost – especially when it comes to young puppies and kittens who tend to run out into the street – the correct identification information will help you quickly and successfully find it. Start with the basics: a pet GPS collar or a tag with all the contact information. In addition to the identification tag, a pet microchip is recommended because there is always a chance that the collar will come off.

4. Sterilization/castration

Neutering cats and dogs can prevent many health problems, including complicated pregnancy.

Spaying a cat significantly reduces the risk of cervical cancer, eliminates the risk of ovarian cancer, and prevents estrus. In addition, it will minimize the likelihood of running away from home in search of a partner, and neighbor cats will be less aggressive.

Spaying your dog will help reduce aggression and roaming around the area and prevent the development of testicular cancer.

5. Healthy pet food

Providing pets with fresh, cool water and healthy food are two interrelated elements of responsible pet ownership. Properly selected food will improve the quality of life of your pet, providing it with the necessary energy and nutrients. In addition to containing beneficial ingredients, the formula should be appropriate for the pet’s age, health, and activity level. Before transferring a pet to a specialized food, it is necessary to consult a veterinarian. It will help you choose healthy food for your dog or cat.

Where Can You Get Money for a Pet?

First, it is worth considering the financial issue before you take a pet. Calculate your budget, and make sure you have enough money for a comfortable life for yourself and your four-legged friend. However, life happens. If you need money for a pet urgently but don’t have a cent in your wallet, it’s not always the reason for giving up your pet-owning dream. You can borrow money from your family or friends or consider pet financing loan options. Just keep in mind that you become responsible forever for what you’ve tamed. Thus, estimate your budget before you find yourself in debt.

A payday loan is suitable for unforeseen cases. For example, the dog ate something wrong and urgently needed to see a veterinarian. The cat landed badly and is lame? For such matters (and paying bills at the veterinarian), a payday loan is what you need. You can apply for it online in a few minutes, and the money comes within a day, in extreme cases – the next business day.

A personal loan is suitable for larger expenses—for example, sterilization. Or you are preparing a pet for an exhibition, which also requires a considerable amount. Since all this does not require an urgent decision and fast money, you will have the necessary time (usually no more than a week) to get approved for a personal loan. Its advantage is that you can borrow a much larger amount than if it were a payday loan.
